Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has offered automatic employment to foreign postgraduate students who returned after completing their studies in India.
The governor welcomed 150 graduates, who earned master’s degrees in various fields from Sharda University, during an event held at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
His deputy, cabinet members, and well-wishers attended the reception.
At the event, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to Allah and pride in successfully completing the program. “I don’t have the words to express my appreciation for this historic day. Alhamdulillah, these graduates are now back in Kano,” he said.
He assured the graduates of government support, stating that those who studied medicine, engineering, or related fields would be offered automatic employment.
“For others, we will work with the private sector to provide opportunities. The government will employ some of you, while others will be empowered to contribute to our development efforts,” he added.
Governor Yusuf encouraged the graduates to serve as ambassadors for Kano State and contribute meaningfully to the state’s and Nigeria’s growth.
He also praised former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who initiated the foreign scholarship scheme, and thanked the parents of the graduates for their trust and prayers.
To mark the occasion, each graduate received a cash gift of ₦50,000 as a token of appreciation from the state government.
