- Magistrate Sotayo of the Ijebu Imusin Magisterial District on Monday sentenced Ajao on a three-count charge.
In Ogun State, one Abiodun Ajao has been sentenced to 6 years imprisonment for stealing a customer’s car.
27-year-old Ajao was convicted and sentenced on Monday by Ijebu Imusin Magisterial District in the southwest State.
Ajao, a mechanic based in Lagos, was apprehended in Ijebu Imusin by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ijebu East Central Division, Esure Ijebu Imusin.
He was arraigned on three-count charge of stealing, conversion and malicious damage.
It is gathered the convict drove the Honda Accord from Lagos to Idona, Ijebu Imusin and tore the vehicle apart for sale to intending buyers before he was arrested.
On his arrest, the NSCDC State Commandant, Remilekun Ekundayo ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter for further and proper action to be taken.
However, Magistrate Sotayo of the Ijebu Imusin Magisterial District on Monday sentenced Ajao on a three-count charge.
The count charges are for stealing, which contravenes Section 390; second for conversion, which contravenes Section 434; and third for malicious damage, which contravenes Section 451 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State.
The defendant, Abiodun Ajao, pleaded guilty to the three-count charges before him and was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment on each count charge, which is to run consecutively
