Police Launch Manhunt After Deadly Attack in Anambra

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered a manhunt for assailants who attacked security operatives and civilians in Ihiala Local Government Area, killing seven people, including two unarmed passers-by.

The attack occurred on Monday around 11:20 a.m., according to Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga. One victim was rescued and is receiving treatment.

Ikenga disclosed that the gunmen opened fire at a venue preparing for a burial ceremony and later shot two security operatives near the local government headquarters.

During a visit to the scene, CP Itam assured that the attackers would be brought to justice.
