  • APC disproved Obi’s assertions, noting that in the past months, the country’s economy has made progress.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has excoriated the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election over his comments on the uninspiring and parlous State of the nation under President Bola Tinubu.

Obi at a press conference on Thursday said Tinubu is detached from the realities of average Nigerians, adding corruption is high in his government.

Obi noted that Nigeria’s economic and security woes under Tinubu in the past 18 months have worsened.

Obi, the former Anambra State Governor, admonished Tinubu to visit Nigerian hospitals and take short trips to see how bad the situation has become.

Reacting, APC disproved Obi’s assertions, noting that in the past months, the country’s economy has made progress.

According to APC, the claims by Peter Obi on the country’s economy and security are misleading and intended to score cheap political points.

“While Nigerians celebrated the new year with hope for a more glorious 2025, Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, was seemingly stuck in a replay of his jangling, gloom-ridden wishlist for our country.

“Obi’s New Year message, in which he claimed that our dear country’s political, economic, and security situation is worsening daily, is misleading and appears intended to score cheap political points.

“This claim, at a time when all indicators show that our country is rebounding in significant measure across all sectors, casts Obi, squarely, as Nigeria’s leading doomsayer,” APC stated.
