Kano Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper, Rescue Two-Year-Old Victim

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old suspected kidnapper, Abubakar Musa, for abducting a two-year-old boy and demanding a ransom of ₦50 million.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, revealed in a statement on Saturday that the suspect was apprehended on December 25, 2024, after an intelligence-led operation.

“The victim, Al’amin Ahmad Garba, was rescued from a house in Unguwar Liman, Dorayi Quarters, Kano, where he had been hidden for three days,” Haruna stated.

The boy was immediately taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital Kano for medical attention, treated, and later discharged. He has since been reunited with his family.

The suspect has been charged at Magistrate Court No. 25, Nomansland Kano, and remains in custody.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, assured residents of the Command’s commitment to ensuring safety and security. He also encouraged the public to provide information that could aid in apprehending criminals.
