Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, the Da-Amakiri Tubo and Amanyanabo of the Source (Elem Kalabari Kingdom), has urged Kalabari people at home and abroad to prioritize investments in their homeland.
He emphasized that such actions are vital for societal and national growth.
In his New Year goodwill message on Sunday, Dokubo-Asari addressed monarchs, chiefs, elites, and citizens of the Kalabari Kingdom.
He reiterated his dedication to advocating for resource control, opposing oppression, and promoting environmental protection in the Niger Delta.
He urged youths to avoid cultism and violent groups that harm others. Instead, he encouraged them to focus on peaceful and productive activities that benefit the community.
“Our people should return home to build houses here instead of purchasing land elsewhere. I call on my Kalabari brothers and sisters worldwide to establish businesses that will boost our kingdom’s economy and create jobs for our people,” he said.
Dokubo-Asari highlighted the region’s abundant oil and gas resources and opportunities in marine transport, agriculture, and tourism. He urged the Kalabari people to explore these sectors for sustainable investments.
Reflecting on his decision, he shared how he relocated from Port Harcourt to Obuama in 2017, selling all his properties in the city to invest in Obuama.
He noted that his contributions have significantly transformed the community into a vibrant and diverse hub.
