General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, has expressed optimism about improved security in 2025.
He acknowledged the challenges faced in the previous year but emphasized renewed efforts in combating insecurity.
During a visit to frontline units under OPERATION SAFE HAVEN in Kaduna and Plateau states, General Musa highlighted the need for a stronger fight against insurgency.
He called for greater dedication and cooperation among the troops.
While addressing soldiers of the newly established 2 National Mission Brigade in Samaru Kataf, Kaduna, and Sector 8 Mangu, Plateau, the CDS urged respect for human rights.
He advised them to avoid illegal actions that could harm the military’s reputation or the nation’s.
“We will intensify efforts and bring peace to Nigerians,” Musa stated. “We will collaborate with other security agencies to reach our goals. Nigerians must stay resolute because the enemy remains active.”
He also reminded the troops to protect lives and property while upholding citizens’ rights. The CDS encouraged them to take decisive action against criminal hideouts and eliminate threats.
Earlier, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, briefed the CDS on the security situation in the joint operational areas.
