- The governor attributed the decision to the need to bring in fresh minds and professionals to propel the state’s development agenda
All Commissioners and special advisers in Akwa Ibom State have been relieved of their duties by the state government.
The termination of their appointments followed Governor Umo Eno dissolution of his entire cabinet.
The governor attributed the decision to the need to bring in fresh minds and professionals to propel the state’s development agenda.
The governor made the announcement during a valedictory session at the Exco Chamber in Uyo on Friday.
Governor Eno praised the outgoing commissioners for their hard work and dedication, stating that none of them underperformed during their tenure.
“All of you have delivered, and that’s why the Arise Agenda has succeeded,” he said. “But we must come to the end of a season, start another season, and keep moving.”
Most of the commissioners had been in office for almost 10 years, with some serving under former Governor Udom Emmanuel.
It is understood that the commissioners and advisers were retained by Governor Eno to allow them to complete their tenure as compensation for their services.
