President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Saturday, January 11, to attend the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2025).
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga confirmed the trip in a statement released on Friday. The event, scheduled from January 12 to 18, was organized at the invitation of the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” will gather global leaders to explore strategies for accelerating sustainable development and enhancing socioeconomic growth.
According to the statement, “ADSW has been held annually for over 15 years as a platform for fostering global cooperation. It has facilitated high-value agreements and partnerships between governments, industry leaders, and clean energy innovators.”
During the summit, President Tinubu will highlight his administration’s ongoing energy, transportation, public health, and economic development reforms.
The President is also expected to discuss matters of mutual interest with UAE leaders. Accompanying him will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials.
President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
