“These proactive operations are aimed at preventing crime and protecting public infrastructure from theft and vandalism, such as manhole covers, streetlights, and power cables,” Adeh said.
During the raids, police arrested 348 suspects for various criminal activities, 320 of whom have been charged to court.
The operations also led to the seizure of 10 trucks loaded with vandalised metals, 26 stolen manhole covers, 20 streetlight poles, and substantial quantities of armoured cables. Additionally, officers recovered 11 firearms, reducing the circulation of illegal weapons.
Drug-related crimes were also targeted, with the confiscation of significant amounts of suspected Indian hemp and other hard drugs.
