The Abia State Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy has unveiled plans to modernize its cultural and historical landmarks using technology and innovation to boost tourism.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting in Umuahia between the Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Dr. Matt Ekwuruibe, and the Curator of the National War Museum, Mrs. Stella Alao, alongside her team.

Dr. Ekwuruibe outlined the state’s vision to integrate virtual and augmented reality (VAR) into its museums, create child-friendly spaces, and display authentic artefacts to showcase Abia’s cultural richness.

“Our goal is to bring Abia’s rich history to life and establish our state as a top destination for cultural tourism,” he said.
