The Katsina State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a 12-year-old boy and uncovered a counterfeit currency syndicate.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, revealed that the boy was abducted on January 11 while running an errand and later killed despite a ransom demand of ₦25 million.

“The kidnappers refused to release the boy, even as negotiations progressed. They eventually killed him and abandoned his body on the outskirts of Dankama town,” DSP Sadiq said.

Following investigations, the police apprehended two suspects, Muttaka Garba and Yusuf Usman, who have reportedly confessed to the crime.
