The operation, involving 100-200 ICE officers, is expected to begin Tuesday and continue throughout the week.
While Trump’s team has not commented, a source told The Guardian that ICE will increase enforcement nationwide, with arrests also planned in cities like New York and Miami.
Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, reportedly said enforcement would start in Chicago and warned that the city’s mayor could face prosecution for obstructing ICE operations.
Immigration was a key campaign issue for Trump, who promised to launch “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history” immediately after his inauguration.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Prince Harry may face challenges to his U.S. residency under the new administration, with legal experts predicting intensified scrutiny of high-profile immigration cases.
