General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, on Monday participated in the Inauguration Praise and Prayer Convocation, an event held ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States.
The programme, hosted at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, was organised by Jim Garlow’s Well Versed World ministry in collaboration with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council. The gathering brought together faith leaders to intercede for the nation and its incoming administration.
At the event, Kumuyi prayed that God would grant Trump the wisdom he needs to carry out out his duties.
Kumuyi also prayed for unity between Trump and the church in the US.
“Almighty God, we thank you and bless your name. What a great and glorious God you are. And what a gathering we have this afternoon. We thank you for the church in America.
“You said upon this rock you will build your church not just for that generation but for all generations. And you said the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
“Lord we have come in preparations for the inauguration of Donald Trump the president tomorrow. We are asking you, grant him wisdom and grant the church the unity, the knowledge and forthrightness to speak the truth to power.
“And we pray as you connect the church with the leader, we pray that it will be a good unity that will help the president and the church to remain the church.
“Confirm it oh Lord and answer the prayer of your people for this nation America in Jesus name we pray,” Kumuyi prayed at the event.
