U.S. President Donald Trump declared that God saved him from an assassination attempt to fulfill his mission of “making America great again.” Trump made the statement on Monday during his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States.
Reflecting on the incident, Trump said, “A few months ago, in a beautiful Pennsylvania field, an assassin’s bullet ripped through my ear.
I felt then, and believe even more now, that my life was saved for a purpose. I was saved by God to make America great again.”
The assassination attempt occurred on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, during a rally. Thomas Matthew Crooks managed to reach an elevated position with an assault rifle and fired multiple shots at Trump. One of the bullets grazed the former president’s right ear.
Trump’s survival of the attack became a focal point of his speech, symbolizing what he described as a divine mission to lead and restore the nation.
