  • The police spokesman reported that enraged local youths confronted the attackers, overpowering three and forcing three others to flee injured.
  • Victims and bodies were rushed to Fika’s General Hospital for treatment and post-mortem examinations, respectively.

The Yobe police command has announced the arrest of a suspected bandit leader in Ngalda, Fika LGA in the state.

According to Dungus Abdulkarim, police spokesperson in Yobe, a homemade pistol and three cartridges were seized during the arrest.

Abdulkarim stated that the kingpin’s capture followed a brutal robbery at Ngalda Market, which left seven dead and 11 injured.

“On January 20, 2025, at approximately 2100hrs, a group of six armed robbers attacked three shops at Ngalda Market,” the police spokesperson said.
