Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has signed into law a bill raising the retirement age of magistrates from 60 to 65 years.

During the signing ceremony, the governor emphasized his administration’s dedication to strengthening the judiciary and promoting economic development.

He noted that this legislative move aims to retain experienced magistrates, thereby boosting the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s judicial system.

In addition, Governor Okpebholo assented to another bill expanding the membership of the state’s oil agency.

He stated that these legislative actions align with the government’s vision of enhancing judicial integrity and maximizing the benefits of natural resources for the people of Edo State.
