- Residents praised Wike’s swift completion of roads and security infrastructure
The indigenous residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have conferred the title “Wike Abowoweyi,” meaning “The Magician of Our Time,” on FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, recognising his contributions to infrastructure development.
The honour was announced during the commissioning of the Saburi road project in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on Saturday. Residents praised Wike’s swift completion of roads and security infrastructure, calling his leadership transformative.
This adds to his traditional titles since taking office, including ‘Barden Bwari’ by the Etsu of Bwari and ‘Sarkin Yaki’ by the Aguma of Gwagwalada.
During the event, Wike announced plans to begin reconstruction of the Dei-Dei-Life Camp Road in February, promising completion within a year, including the installation of streetlights for safety and aesthetics.
“We are committed to ensuring every community feels the impact of governance,” he said, pledging to include the Zaudna-Kagini Road in the 2025 budget and improve schools in the area.
AMAC Chairman Hon. Christopher Maikalangu praised Wike’s dedication, while Wike urged residents to remain patient as the government works to deliver on its promises.
