Members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met privately with Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara on Wednesday night.
The meeting took place in Port Harcourt, the state capital, amid ongoing tensions within the state chapter of the party.
The delegation, led by PDP National Treasurer Ahmed Yayari Mohammed, reportedly aimed to address the deepening crisis. Sources revealed that the group had earlier visited Bauchi State Governor and PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman, Bala Mohammed, along with Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
While the specifics of their discussions with Governor Fubara remain undisclosed, insiders suggest the visit sought to affirm his position as the party’s leader in Rivers State.
The move is seen as part of broader efforts by the NWC to resolve internal disputes and ensure stability within the PDP across various states.
