Tinubu lauds Finland’s timely intervention in Simon Ekpa’s case

President Bola Tinubu has commended the Finnish government for arresting and detaining Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Tinubu praised the Finnish authorities for safeguarding Nigeria’s integrity and mitigating actions that threatened peaceful coexistence.

The president emphasised that his administration will not tolerate divisive actions or statements that could lead to division among citizens.

He also thanked the Finnish government for upholding human rights in handling Ekpa’s case, stating that Nigeria remains an indivisible entity committed to stability and development.

Tinubu received letters of credence from the Finnish Ambassador to Nigeria, Sanna Selin, and praised Finland’s support in various sectors, including ICT, agriculture, and education.

He also called for collaboration between Nigeria and Algeria to implement the trans-Saharan African Gas pipeline project.
