  • The EFCC renamed its Academy Administrative Department after Aminu Salisu, an officer killed in the line of duty on January 17
  • Chairman Ola Olukoyede vowed justice for Salisu’s murder and emphasized support for families of officers who sacrifice their lives

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has renamed its Academy Administrative Department in honor of Aminu Salisu, an officer who was tragically killed in the line of duty.

Salisu, an Assistant Superintendent of the EFCC, was fatally shot on January 17 by a suspected internet fraudster, Joshua Ikechukwu, in Anambra State.

Announcing the decision during the commission’s 2024 Rewards and Recognition Awards in Abuja, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede vowed that Salisu’s killer would face the full weight of the law.

Olukoyede emphasized the commission’s commitment to recognizing the sacrifices of its officers, particularly those who lost their lives or sustained injuries while fighting financial crimes.
