The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to the murder of Atiku Mu’azu, a retired Permanent Secretary and former Chairman of the Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue Service.
Mu’azu, who had been living in Kano State after his retirement, was reportedly abducted and killed. The command’s spokesperson, SP Haruna Abdullahi, confirmed the arrests on Sunday, stating that the suspects are in custody and will face prosecution upon the conclusion of investigations.
In a related development, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked Garo town in Kabo Local Government Area early Sunday, abducting Zainab, the eldest daughter of businessman Alhaji Auwal.
Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, numbering about 10, broke into the house around 1:20 a.m. and fled with the secondary school graduate.
SP Abdullahi confirmed police efforts to rescue the victim and apprehend the suspects. As of now, the kidnappers have not contacted the family regarding her whereabouts.
