The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has reunited nine trafficked children with their families in Kebbi State.
The children, rescued from Calabar, Cross River State, were officially handed over to Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
Governor Idris condemned the act as “heinous” and reaffirmed his administration’s zero tolerance for child trafficking. He pledged to ensure that perpetrators are prosecuted to serve as a deterrent.
“This administration will not tolerate any act of illegality, especially the trafficking of innocent children. Those responsible must face the full wrath of the law,” he said, urging parents to take greater responsibility in safeguarding their children.

Kaura assured, “The culprits will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
