- The Osun APC noted it would not miss Aregbesola’s supporters, adding that they left after their efforts to destabilize and hijack the party failed.
- The party also stated that it is not perturbed by the announcement of the political group since they left since 2022.
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it remains unfazed by the departure of Omoluabi Progressives, a group backed by Rauf Aregbesola.
Recall that the group announced its departure from the APC on Sunday after a stakeholder meeting attended by Aregbesola himself and other members of the APC faction in the 332 wards of Osun.
Osun APC spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, stated that Aregbesola’s supporters had actually left the party’s mainstream in 2022.
Olabisi recalled that many Omoluabi Progressives members had been expelled or suspended from the APC and labeled them as agents of the Peoples Democratic Party.
“The preposterous announcement of the so-called Omoluabi Progressives to quit the APC is a good riddance to bad rubbish,” he said.
Olabisi questioned the rationality of announcing resignation after being suspended or expelled, citing it as an example of “superfluity.”
He expressed happiness at missing the political irritants who had left the party before the 2022 governorship election.
“You cannot claim to be part of our party while working against its interests. You are agents of the PDP in Osun State, serving the ruling party.”
Olabisi noted that Osun APC is growing stronger daily and warned handlers of Omoluabi Progressives, saying “whoever wants to bury his elder brother nakedly should take along his younger brother.”
He insisted the APC wouldn’t miss Aregbesola’s supporters, who left after failing to destabilize and hijack the party.
Olabisi stated, “Your recent announcement of forming or joining another party marks the beginning of your political funeral, culminating in your final burial through the 2026 governorship election.”
Olabisi cautioned that followers of Omoluabi Progressives would regret being part of the group.
