One dies in Lagos building collapse


A building collapse in the Lekki area of Lagos State on Tuesday evening claimed the life of one person.

The deceased is a yet-to-be-identified male adult. Three other persons were also injured in the collapse

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Shakiru Amodu, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

The building which was under construction reportedly caved in and fell on some persons suspected to be workers at the site.

Amodu noted that one person lost his life while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

He said, “Yes, the incident happened. There was one casualty while three others were injured.”

The LSFRS spokesperson disclosed that an investigation had begun to unravel the cause of the building collapse.

“The building was under construction before it collapsed. We have yet to ascertain the cause. Investigation is ongoing,” Amodu said.
