The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully rescued 23 kidnapped victims from bandits in the Kajuru Forest, located in Kajuru Local Government Area.
According to a statement from the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, the rescue operation occurred on February 2, 2025.
The operation was launched after security operatives received credible intelligence about the movement of armed bandits in the area. Led by the Divisional Police Officer of Kajuru Division and military personnel, the security forces confronted the bandits near Doka Village in Kajuru Local Government Area.
Hassan explained that the bandits were attempting to relocate their captives to the Kajuru Forest when they were intercepted.
“During the encounter, the police and military inflicted heavy casualties on the bandits, forcing them to retreat into the forest with gunshot wounds.
“As a result, the 23 kidnapped victims, who had been reported missing from Kauru Local Government Area, were rescued and reunited with their families,” he stated.
Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad commended the bravery and professionalism of the security operatives involved. He assured the public that the police remain committed to safeguarding residents and will continue to align efforts with Governor Uba Sani’s security objectives.
