President Bola Tinubu has directed the military to eradicate banditry and insecurity by December 2025.

The Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, revealed this in a viral video, stating that the military will intensify its crackdown on bandits.

Badaru noted that the bandits are currently fleeing, and the military will pursue them relentlessly until they are completely eliminated.

According to Badaru: “The bandits are now on the run, but the military will not rest until we end this thing.

“The president has given us marching orders to end insecurity in every part of our country by the end of this year.

“The Chief of Defence Staff and NSA are working tirelessly to achieve this goal, as evident in the increased pressure on all theatre operations.

“And indeed, mining activities have resumed in Zamfara, which is part of our efforts to address security concerns and ensure the safety of all areas.”
