- The development is the latest in the perennial crisis that the PDP is enmeshed in as different factions of the party battle for its control.
Chief Adolphus Wabara, chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been suspended by the party.
Wabara, a former president of the Senate, was reportedly suspended by the State Working Committee, SWC, of the party in Abia State on Tuesday.
According to DAILY POST, the decision to suspend Wabara was taken during a meeting presided over by the State Chairman, Abraham Amah.
Amah confirmed Wabara’s suspension to newsmen but did not go into details of what triggered the move.
“Yes it is true, he has been suspended”, Amah told DAILY POST.
The development is the latest in the perennial crisis that the PDP is enmeshed in as different factions of the party battle for its control.
It is believed to be a continuation of the power play between loyalists of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and the PDP former presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Wike’s man and former governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has firm control of the Abia PDP.
