- Issa-Onilu also called on citizens to support the government’s initiatives
The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s recent economic reforms, emphasizing their necessity for Nigeria’s economic revival.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Issa-Onilu highlighted the critical condition of the nation’s economy upon President Tinubu’s assumption of office, stating that a comprehensive overhaul was imperative to restore viability.
“The situation President Tinubu met in the country requires a total overhaul to make it viable,” Issa-Onilu remarked.
He acknowledged the challenges posed by the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates but urged Nigerians to view these measures as essential steps toward long-term economic stability.
“These reforms, though initially painful, are necessary to reposition our economy for sustainable growth,” he added.
Issa-Onilu also called on citizens to support the government’s initiatives, expressing confidence that the reforms would yield positive outcomes in due course.
“We must all support these efforts, as they are in the best interest of our nation’s future,” he concluded.
The NOA’s endorsement comes amid public debates over the immediate impacts of the economic policies, with the agency pledging to intensify public awareness campaigns to elucidate the benefits of the reforms.
