The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspect accused of stabbing an Uber driver and stealing his vehicle.
The incident occurred at 7:34 p.m. on Saturday at Ile-Zik, Agege, according to the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, Mr Hundeyin said the suspect had boarded the driver’s Toyota Camry at Nitel, along Old Abeokuta Motor Road in Agege, with a stated destination of Marriott Hotel, GRA, Ikeja.
“On getting to Ile-Zik, the suspect brought out a sharp knife, stabbed the driver multiple times, and stole his vehicle,” Mr Hundeyin said.
Following a report to the Isokoko Police Division, officers tracked the stolen vehicle to Oshodi, where the suspect was apprehended.
“The vehicle was recovered, and the suspect was taken into custody,” he added.
The injured driver has been taken to hospital for treatment, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
