Bandits wreaking havoc across the vast plains of northern Nigeria have struck again in Zamfara State.
At least four people were killed and many abducted when the bandits attacked different communities in the north-west State.
The coordinated attacks reportedly took place between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Among the persons kidnapped is the Vice Chairman of Bukkuyyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Hon. Bala Muhammad Maijidadi and several others in the area.
The gunmen invaded Shemori community, Mada District of Gusau at about 9:20pm on Sunday and kidnapped six women, a local, Nasiru Adamu, told newsmen.
It was also gathered that early on Monday, another gang of bandits stormed Kairu community in Zugu District, killing two locals and abducting an unspecified number of people.
In Mada town, Gusau district, the gunmen targeted Hayin Bajumi, where they burnt the house of one Aliyu Usman.
“The fire incident killed two of his children, five-year-old Ishaq Aliyu and two-year-old Jafar Aliyu.
“The gunmen also abducted Usman’s neighbour’s wife, along with her one-year-old baby before fleeing the scene,” the source disclosed.
The State police spokesman, ASP Yazeed Abubakar has not issued a statement on the incident.
