Seventeen suspected thugs have been arrested in Kano for allegedly planning a violent protest in the metropolitan area, the Kano State Police Command announced on Wednesday.

The arrests followed credible intelligence reports and were carried out by the police in collaboration with other security agencies. Security personnel were strategically deployed across the city to prevent unrest and apprehend those involved.

In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, S. P. Abdullahi Haruna, reassured the public that robust security measures were in place to maintain order in the state.

“As a result of these proactive measures, 17 suspected thugs have been arrested, and an investigation is ongoing. The command is committed to ensuring that the perpetrators of this planned violence are brought to justice,” Haruna said.
