Liverpool extended their lead to 13 points with a 2-0 win over Newcastle, solidifying their top position
Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes suffered another setback after a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
Super Eagles defender Ola Aina featured for Forest, while Taiwo Awoniyi came on as a late substitute in the 85th minute. Sitting just below Arsenal in third place, Forest held their ground, dealing a major blow to Arsenal’s title ambitions.
Arsenal struggled in attack, missing key players like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz. Leandro Trossard and Mikel Merino were tidy up front but lacked a clear cutting-edge.
The draw kept Forest’s Champions League hopes alive. They now trail Arsenal by six points and hold a two-point advantage over Chelsea in fifth.
Meanwhile, Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United at Anfield, extending their lead at the top to 13 points. Dominik Szoboszlai struck in the first half, while Alexis Mac Allister sealed the win after the break.
In other Premier League action, Manchester City edged past Tottenham 1-0 away, while Manchester United secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
