  • Ramadan is a sacred month in the Islamic calendar for Muslim faithfuls. During this month, Muslims are expected to stay away from food during the day and fast from the small hours of the morning till the sunset

The authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have announced the sighting of the Ramadan crescent in the middle east nation.

The announcement was made on Friday, signalling the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan on Saturday, March 1.

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, had on Thursday called on Muslims to look for the crescent of Ramadan 1446 AH.

Although the Sultan is yet to give an update, countries including Qatar, Oman have officially announced that Ramadan would be observed on Saturday, March 1.

Ramadan is a sacred month in the Islamic calendar for Muslim faithfuls. During this month, Muslims are expected to stay away from food during the day and fast from the small hours of the morning till the sunset.

During this holy months, they are to engage in different forms of supplications and prayer. They also implored to engage in act charitable and humanitarian cause of different kinds.
