  • The bandits were said to have invaded the area at about 6:00 pm after military escorts had left the trailer behind

Bandits wreaking havoc in Nigeria’s northern region have struck again in the beleaguered Zamfara State.

At least eight people were killed when the rampaging armed non-state actors ambushed a trailer loaded with food items on Friday.

Many others were also abducted in the attack which happened at Matashayi Zaki community, along Dansadau/Gusau road

The bandits were said to have invaded the area at about 6:00 pm after military escorts had left the trailer behind.

It is gathered no vehicle can move along Dansadau/Gusau axis without military escorts.

According to reports, the military escorts do no not wait for any vehicle that delays their movement.

It was also gathered that the military personnel are collecting huge amount of money from people to escort them to Gusau or from Dansadau, because of the perilous nature of the road.

One Ishiaku Muhammad saod the villagers were losing a lot due to the money they pay to the military escorts for security.

“We have no option, because we are afraid of the bandits, and the army authorities claimed they have installed a military station at Dansadau but there has been no positive effect,” he lamented.

DAILY POST reports that serious attacks by the bandits on Dansadau/Gusau road forced the Federal Government to establish a military station in Dansadau town to reduce the movement of the bandits.

But the military presence had not stopped the attacks.
