Tinubu appoints new director-general for NYSC

Before becoming COAS Chief of Staff, Nafiu worked as a directing staff at the Army War College, Nigeria.

  • The newly appointed NYSC DG is originally from Ileogbo, Aiyedire Local Government Area in Osun State.
  • Nafiu’s appointment takes immediate effect as he succeeds Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed in the leadership role.

President Bola Tinubu has chosen Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu to serve as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Brigadier General Nafiu previously held the position of Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, and earlier served under Lt. General Raised Abiodun Lagbaja.

As a Member of 47 Regular Course, Nafiu is an Artillery Officer who successfully completed training at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the US Army War College.

Before assuming the role of Chief of Staff to the COAS, he was assigned as a Directing Staff at the Army War College, Nigeria.

The newly appointed NYSC Director-General originates from Ileogbo, Aiyedire Local Government Area, situated in Osun State.
