Adamawa man stabs brother to death over N200 meat

  • The quarrel that led to the death of Friday was said to been caused by his refusal to pay for the meat he took from Murya

In Adamawa State, one Friday Murya has been brutally murdered by his younger brother over a N200 piece of meat.

The suspect, Monday Murya, who is a butcher, stabbed the deceased to death after an argument ensued between them over the meat.

The quarrel that led to the death of Friday was said to have been caused by his refusal to pay for the meat he took from Monday.

The incident reportedly happened at Waltadi community in Dunme on Sunday 9th March, 2025.

Monday also stabbed another of his elder brothers, Sinairu, who wanted to separate the fight, and Sinairu is said now to be receiving treatment at Dumne Cottage Hospital in Song LGA.

Witnesses said that Monday demanded for his money only for Friday to keep dragging him, resulting into the fight during which Monday used a knife and stabbed Friday.

Friday who was rushed to the Modibbo Adama Teaching Hospital Yola, died there.

The Adamawa State Police Command is yet to react to the incident by the time of filing this report Tuesday morning.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said he has not been briefed on the incident.
