  • Speaking on the death of pupil, Wada disclosed that he beheaded and mutilated him in an attempt to cover his shame.

In Jigawa State, One Musa Wada, a Quranic teacher, has opened up on the death of one of his pupils, Bashir Adamu, who was brutally murdered.

The 45-year-old man was arrested in connection with the gruesome killing of Adamu in Jikas-Dabaja village.

The suspect was apprehended by the police in the north-west State on March 13, 2025 following a tip-off.

Speaking on the death of pupil, Wada disclosed that he beheaded and mutilated him in an attempt to cover his shame.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Wada allegedly punished Bashir Adamu for repeatedly missing school.

During the grueling and severe punishment, the boy lost consciousness and later died, a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, revealed.

In a bid to hoodwink the public, Wada reportedly mutilated the corpse, severing the victim’s head and genital organs before disposing of the remains by the roadside.

He then buried the severed body parts on his farmland.

The horrific discovery was first reported to the Gwaram Divisional Police Headquarters on March 12, 2025, when residents found a decomposing, beheaded body abandoned along the Jikas-Dabaja village road.

Further investigation led to the identification of the victim as one of Wada’s students.

The suspect has since confessed to the crime and remains in police custody.

The state police command assured the public that the suspect would be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
