It was gathered that the car driver, who was allegedly reckless, swerved off his lane and hit the deceased in the tricycle.

According to PUNCH, a source said, “The driver jumped out of the car and ran away after the accident occurred. The escape of the driver infuriated residents who set the vehicle ablaze.”’

The source said men of the Federal Road Safety Corps deposited the corpses in the morgue of a general hospital in Ondo, while the survivors were taken to a trauma centre for treatment.

The police spokesperson said the command had started trailing the fleeing driver.

Odunlami said, “We have begun to look for the driver and we will ensure we apprehend him while we continue with the investigation.”
