Melaye blasts Bello, says Kogi collected palliatives, must accept COVID-19 vaccines

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye has called on Governor Yahaya Bello to accept the COVID-19 vaccines being distributed by the Federal Government.

Melaye said Kogi State government cannot collect COVID-19 palliatives and money from the Federal Government and now reject the vaccines for the treatment of Coronavirus.

The controversy former lawmaker stated via his Twitter handle, adding that it is a must for the state collect the COVID-19 vaccines too.

His tweet reads: “Kogi Government collected COVID-19 money and palliative from the Federal Government and still has the guts to say no COVID-19 in Kogi State. Since you collected money and palliative, una must collect vaccines too. Oyinara.”

Recall that the National Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, had left out Kogi State from the distribution of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.

According to NPHCDA, the State was left out of the arrangement due to lack of a cold-chain store in the State for the vaccines.

The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has continuously said that there is no COVID-19 in the state and would not subject residents of the state to vaccination.
