Unidentified man commits suicide by hanging himself on a tree in Ibadan

A middle-aged man whose identity has not been ascertained has committed suicide by hanging himself on  a tree in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The incident was said o have occurred in the early hours of Friday at the Nigerian Breweries junction along the new Ife-Ibadan expressway, DAILY POST.

According to a source, the man was seen hanging himself by residents of the area on Friday.

He said the man may have come from a far location to commit suicide in the area as none of the residents was able to identify him.

Residents of the area have now asked the government to evacuate the corpse.

He said, “A man committed suicide at Nigeria brewery junction beside Akin Alabi close.

“He just came from nowhere nobody knows him in the area. Government and security operative should please come to our rescue in removing him from the tree.”

The new Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed the incident
said the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at Adeoyo State Hospital Mortuary.

Osifeso said “Yes, a case of sudden and unnatural death, was recorded at Egbeda division on 07/04/2021.

“Upon receipt of this information, a team of detectives visited the scene, to gather evidence and identify the deceased, the corpse is currently deposited at Adeoyo State Hospital Mortuary, while an investigation is still in process.”
