Rights activist Shehu Mahdi says those who are getting their hopes high on 2023 presidential ambition of former Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu, will be disappointed.

The outspoken Northerner opined that everything about the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate is shrouded in secrecy.

Mahdi was speaking on a video of Tinubu addressing an assembly of party women leaders and members in Abuja.

“Assurance is here, promise is here, prosperity is here, health is here, security is here…banditry has ended”, the APC flagbearer said.

Reacting, Mahdi, a supporter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar, said Tinubu’s followers would be disappointed.

“If you believe BAT, then you can as well believe anything. With everything about him shrouded in the coat of doubt, suspicion and uncertainty.

“Huge disappointment from Tinubu awaits those believing him”, Mahdi tweeted on Thursday.

The Katsina-born commentator was in the news recently for advising Christians in the North not to vote for candidates from the South.

Mahdi claimed that a vote Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) standard bearer, would amount to support for Biafra secession agitation.

The Conference Of Northern Christians And Minority (CNCM), the Coalition of Northern Elders For Peace and National Unity (CNEFPNU), among other organizations, conemned the comments.
