Adamawa couple arrested for battering 11-year-old orphan left in their care

A couple identified as Kamal Idris, 24, and Ambasiya Idris, 19, has been arrested by the police for brutalizing an 11-year-old orphan, Fahad Abdulkarim, in Wuro Jabbe, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The State Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement, said the couple frequently torture the little boy, placed under their custody as guardians, after the death of his father.

Nguroje said the frequent torture leaves grievous bodily injury on the orphan.

He said after the command received a report of this dastardly act by the couple, it immediately arrested the couple and rescued the innocent/tortured Child.

The PPRO added that the victim was rushed to the Hospital where he currently is on admission receiving treatment.

He disclosed that that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, frowned at the treatment meted on the little boy by the Guardians who happened to be “uncle/aunty” to the victim and vowed to prosecute them so as to serve as a deterrent to others from doing likewise.
