  • Expressing safety concerns, Mr. Kolo holds Chairman Dankaka responsible for any harm to him but fails to attend subsequent committee hearings on July 8th and 9th
  • Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON), Mr. Kolo’s current employer, also fails to participate in the investigation despite being summoned

The House of Representatives’ special committee investigating fraudulent employment practices within government agencies has taken a significant step on Thursday. They have issued a warrant for the arrest of Haruna Kolo, a former employee of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) and also responsible for the IPPIS desk.

This move follows Mr. Kolo’s appearance before the committee on July 7th, during which he faced allegations of orchestrating the sale of job positions. In a surprising revelation, Mr. Kolo confessed to collaborating with Farida Dankaka, the chairman of the commission, in accepting money for job placements.

During his testimony, Mr. Kolo expressed concerns about his personal safety and held Mrs. Dankaka accountable for any harm that might befall him. Despite his earlier cooperation, he has failed to attend subsequent committee hearings on July 8th and 9th.

Additionally, the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON), where Mr. Kolo now works, also did not participate in the investigation despite being summoned.

Rep Yusuf Gagdi, the committee’s chairman, announced that a warrant for Mr. Kolo’s arrest would be enforced by security agencies. Chairman Gagdi expressed disappointment in the conduct of some government agencies, stating that non-compliance with the committee’s invitation would result in penalties.

Moving forward, the committee plans to communicate its stance through newspaper publications to ensure that all relevant agencies adhere to the invitation for future hearings.
