Commercial activities came to an abrupt halt Friday afternoon in Ughelli, Delta State, as audacious armed robbers launched a Commando-style attack on a customer at a bank.
According to a source who spoke with Vanguard, the robbers, armed with guns, had unknowingly trailed the customer to the bank premises. They fired several shots into the air before attacking their victim.
The victim had not yet entered the banking hall when the gunmen struck, making away with three sacks of money.
It was reported that the bank’s private security guard and two others were shot by the gunmen, who arrived at the bank premises in a Toyota Venza.
The incident caused panic, with shop owners quickly shutting down and vehicular movement coming to a standstill along the busy Isoko Road in Ughelli.
