Former Senate President, Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, has provided N100 million in grants to support 400 small-scale business owners and entrepreneurs in Yobe State. Each beneficiary received N250,000 to help grow their businesses.
The grant, distributed across six local government areas in Yobe North, aims to foster a vibrant and sustainable local economy.
Speaking about the initiative, Lawan emphasized that the funding is a non-repayable grant designed to empower businesses and drive economic growth within the state.
“This financial support will enable entrepreneurs to expand their operations and strengthen the local economy,” Lawan said.
He highlighted that the initiative aligns with efforts to address specific needs within the business community.
Lawan also praised the selection committee for ensuring that the funds reached a diverse range of enterprises.
The programme, he noted, was carefully tailored to benefit traders and small business owners, helping them overcome challenges and achieve sustainable growth.
