  • APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje claimed Senator Kwankwaso’s supporters are disappointed with the NNPP’s performance, stating the party will reclaim Kano
  • Ganduje emphasized the importance of unity among APC members, asserting that collaboration is crucial for success in upcoming elections

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has claimed that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso’s supporters are disappointed with the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) performance in Kano State.

Kwankwaso was the NNPP’s presidential candidate in the last election.

Ganduje made this statement during the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum Dinner, honouring notable party members, including Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, Rt. Hon. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, and others.

Represented by Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, Ganduje declared that the APC is poised to reclaim power from the NNPP.

On Kwankwaso, Ganduje remarked, “I am surprised when Rabiu Kwankwaso claims he has the people’s support. If not for internal issues within our party, he wouldn’t have won any election in Kano.

His supporters are now disillusioned and regret their decision. Even the governor is unaware of what is happening around him. Kwankwasiyya is finished.”

Ganduje emphasized that unity is critical for the APC’s success in future elections, urging party members to work together. “Unity is our only path forward.

The current government is destabilizing the state, but we will reclaim it. The next election will be as simple as removing a hen from its eggs,” he said.

Similarly, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, reiterated the importance of unity.

He expressed confidence in the APC’s chances, stating, “If the election were held today, we would have no reason to fear. We won the last one, but God didn’t grant us victory. Let us remain united and pray for better results.”

Ata also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing Kano in national projects. “When housing units were allocated to states, Kano received 500 instead of the usual 250. This shows the President’s commitment to the state,” he added.

The Forum Chairman, Abdul’azeez Garba Gafasa, praised the honorees for their efforts and urged party members to continue fostering unity. “Our leaders have worked tirelessly to bring us together. We must build on this foundation,” he said.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Deputy Senate President Senator Barau I. Jibrin, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Muhammad Ibn Abdallah.

Other national and state party leaders were also present, reinforcing the APC’s determination to reclaim Kano State in the next elections.
