President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is holding a closed-door meeting with China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Wang Yi, a key member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, arrived in Nigeria for a two-day working visit.
Dunoma Umar Ahmed, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed him at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
The discussions are centred on the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit in China.
Topics include collaborations in the economy, politics, and the oil and gas sectors.
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, is also part of the talks. Following the meeting, the two foreign ministers are expected to address the press to provide details of their discussions.
