There have been lots of controversies surrounding the relationships and marriages of many Nigerian celebs. Domestic abuse, polygamy, divorce, etc., are some of the trending issues. In the same light, there are some married actresses who have found love but with men who already have kids with other women. While some of the women are baby mamas, the rest are ex-wives.
Who are these popular Nigerian actresses?
Mercy Johnson
The pair, Mercy Johnson and Prince Odianosen Okojie has been married since 2011 and they have three children. In 2011, a controversial issue involving Mercy Johnson circulated when a woman named Mrs. Lovely Okojie sent out an open letter to Mercy Johnson to please release her husband and find a single man to marry.
Lovely Okojie had claimed that Prince Odi Okojie is the father of her two children and he was still legally married to her at the time.
The issue didn’t deter the lovebirds to continue with their marital plans, as they exchanged their vows at a Christ Embassy Church, Oregun, Lagos on Saturday, August 27, 2011, amidst tight security. They are still together, waxing stronger , really loved by their fans and have been blessed with four beautiful kids.
Funke Akindele Bello
Akindele-Bello Olufunke Ayotunde, popularly known as Funke Akindele or Jenifa is one of the many female celebrities who have been in more than one marriage. On May 26, 2012, Funke married Adeola Kehinde Oloyede. Funke’s first marriage was to Mr. Kehinde Oloyede in a very glamorous wedding and it can be said to be one of the shortest marriages in the history of Nollywood. Barely a year after they wedded, the marriage crashed and the couple divorced in July 2013.
After her break up with Oloyede, Funke later got married to a Nigerian rapper Abdul Rasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz in London in May 2016 exactly four years after her first marriage. The couple is blessed with twins. Before meeting Funke, JJC had three children with three different baby mamas.
In 2019, one of his children, Tamira Bello, graduated with a BA Hons Media and Communications (Television) from a UK University
Earlier in the year, one of his children took to social media to narrate how he was maltreated by Funke Akindele. In response, his mum, one of JJC’s baby mamas, took to Instagram to shade him and how he treated her son.
Toyin Abraham
Alakada crooner and multiple award winner, Toyin Abraham also makes this list. She and her man, Kolawole Ajeyemi have not finalised their legal union, although they had their traditional wedding in July 2019. Before starting their relationship, Toyin was married to another Nollywood star, Adeniyi Johnson whom she tied the knot with in 2013. The marriage crashed in 2015 with allegations of infidelity on her man. Months after their split, Johnson remarried another actress, Seyi Edun.
On the other hand, Ajeyemi has a daughter from his previous relationship. The actress and her hubby welcomed their first child together back in 2019, and she is reportedly pregnant for a second child.
Regina Daniels
Pretty Nollywood actress, Reginal Daniels became the talk of the town when as a teenager, she got married to he husband and billionaire, Ned Nwoko, a well-known polygamist. At the time of their union, he already had six wives and seven children.
Regina Daniels has a son.
Mercy Aigbe
Popular Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe is unsurprisingly in this list. She was firstly married to an Igbo man, whom she had a beautiful daughter for him. The union couldn’t stand the test of time as it crashed a few years later due to the interference of her mother in law.
The gorgeous actress got married to her second husband, Nigerian hotelier, Lanre Gentry at the Ikoyi Registry in 2013. In 2017, the marriage hit the rock due to domestic abuse, as revealed in the photos of herself after allegedly being assaulted by her husband.

Judy Moghalu
Entrenched in recent marital controversy is Nollywood actress, Judy Moghalu who is the second wife of fellow Nollywood colleague, Yul Edochie and they have a son together. This revelation was made by Yul who disclosed they got married late last year, a move unknown to his first wife May.
Yul married his first wife May 17 years ago, in 2004, at the age of 22. The couple celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary in October 2021 and have four children.
Foluke Daramola
Endowed actress, Foluke Daramola was married to Babatunde Sobowale, son of former Lagos State Commissioner of Education, Professor Idowu Sobowale. They got married in 2005, and in 2008, their union came crashing down on allegations that the actress was being battered by her husband over accusations of infidelity. Their union produced two children.
On February 15, 2013, Foluke later got married to her lover, Kayode Salako, a politician and the owner of a private school. Reports have it that Mr Salako was happily married to a pastor with RCCG and they were married for 13 years before the woman left with her three children.
Rumours spread last year that the lovebirds were on the verge of a divorce but her husband debunked such rumour, stating their marriage is still very solid.
