Pap and Akara
A Nigerian delicacy called Akamu (Pap) (Ogi) is made with fermented corn and bean flour. Typically, it is eaten for breakfast or dinner. The pap can be consumed alone, with sugar or honey, or both.
To prepare Pap, boil water, then pour your fermented corn in a bowl or cup[you may add sugar or honey or not], then thoroughly mix the fermented corn starch slurry to break up any lumps, gradually add the boiling hot water while continuing to stir the slurry. Add boiling water while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens or reaches the appropriate consistency. Your Pap is ready!
Akara, often referred to as bean cakes, bean-balls, or bean fritas, is a common Nigerian snack prepared with beans.
The bean coat must first be removed from the beans right before making the akara in order to proceed. Afterwards, grind the beans, add seasoning, pepper, and oil. In another pan, add oil till it’s really hot. Gently pat your paste and lay it down in the hot oil till it turns brown.
